taken from fotosearch.com Greetings & welcome to the blog for the SMK Puteri Titiwangsa 1 Maju student group blogs project. This blog will be the main hub for the project where assignments are explained & justified. This blog will also link to the students' group blogs & highlight outstanding work. I am a trainee teacher fondly addressed by my students as Mr Yong. I was part of a government programme where trainee teachers are sent overseas for a few years to learn the art of second language teaching. In my case, I was in Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, for my bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Second Official Language (TESOL). With my mind fresh with ideas, I decided to come up with a project to carry out with my high-proficiency & high-motivation Form 1 English langauge class, 1 Maju. This project involves the giving of specific assignments to students for group discussion & writing. After that, they post their works on a blog for t...
picture taken from picasaweb.google.com Introduction: My time at SMK Putri Titiwangsa has come to an end & so has my time with 1 Maju. With that, the 1 Maju group blog project has to be shut down & evaluated. With group work, students were provided more challenging tasks to share the learning burden & to come up with solutions together. There was also a lot of learning from each other & viewing from different perspectives taking place. - Motivating The students really took ownersh...
Image taken from liskw.wordpress.com I think that the first post in a blog should be an introduction to their personalities & the blog. Therefore, the first assignment is writing an introduction to their blog. This should also give them a good feel of each other, group work & the writing of blogs. Guiding Statements/Questions: - Who they are - The purpose of the blog - What they want from their blog MOST OUTSTANDING POST FOR ASSIGNMENT 1: .Seven Ai.Seven Ai. by Seven Ai After looking through all the blogs. I found this one to be the most outstanding. In that blog post: All the guiding statements & questions were answered clearly. The English was appropriate and contained no mistakes. They also had pictures that were clearly label and justified. The writing was very cheerful & it was able to retain my interest. This post is the most outstanding post for Assignment 1: Introduction The group gets 3 merit points. Excellent Posts (2 merit points): Welcome to VAREDAEST!!!! by...
